STEP 5 - CONTACT THE FOLLOWING ORGANISATIONS

  • Contact your cat’s microchip company and inform them that your cat is missing.

  • Contact your cat’s insurance company and inform them that your cat is missing.
Ask if they offer rewards for missing cats as some insurance companies offer undisclosed sums. They may also pay for having posters printed and other related expenses.

  • Contact all our local vets, and the local rescues in Surrey Heath who may have had your cat handed in. Contact them each day your cat is missing - don’t rely on them to call you.

  • A difficult call to make, but to rule out the possibility that your pet has been involved in a fatal road traffic accident, you can contact SHBC Environmental Services on 01276 707100 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
They will be able to tell you if any of their operatives have collected a deceased cat recently. They will usually check for a microchip, but as yet this is not a legal requirement for them to do so, it is a good idea for you to check with them yourself.
